Golf Terminology

Learn the Basic Golf Terms

You've come to the right place to learn golf terminology. Some of the more common, and not so common golf terms are listed below.

The basic glossary of golf terminology is listed alphabetically. And the more detailed or advanced golf terms are grouped together for the convenience of finding and them categorically, either by topic or alphabetically.

Learning the basic golf terms will help you not only on the golf course but also in social gatherings and in business camaraderie and for your next corporate golf outing. The good news is the basic glossary of golf terms is straightforward and not difficult to learn.

Not everyone needs to know what it means when two friends are golfing and the one friend uses his niblick and takes advantage of the muckle side of the cup for his shot to drop. And the other friend who was winning the hole at the time tells him, “You took the meat off my fork!”

For fun, a few of these not so common golf terms are included.
