Golf Swing Tips to
Improve your Golf Game

GOLF MENTAL TRAINING

OPEN-MINDED GOLF SWING LEARNING

Keeping an open-mind to learning the fundamentals of the full golf swing motion will provide ongoing mental training for you. It will help you achieve the mental stamina and confidence you need so you can knowingly play any golf shot trusting in your swing.

One element of golf you can rest assured in, and is highly recommended for every golfer, is to obtain an understanding of the basic fundamentals of the full swing motion. One saving factor you can always rely on, because you have complete control over it, is your full swing fundamentals from your back-swing, to impact, to your follow-through.

Golf would seem like a much tougher sport if it weren’t for the proven and proper golf swing mechanics. Knowing the fundamentals of the swing is critical for mental toughness and ideal shot execution. Fortunately, the swing motion is the same (or very, very close to being the same) with every club in your bag, with the exception of the putter. And even when putting you’ll follow most of the same fundamentals as the full swing, however, your back-swing and follow-through will just be shortened.

Once you obtain an understanding of the full swing motion and are able to mechanically execute it properly on the golf swing plane, regardless of the situation you are in with your golf ball lie, and golf club selection, you can relax and trust in your knowledge and mechanical swing expertise to take your golf ball and you to your next ideal point on the golf course.

GOLF MENTAL TRAINING

TRY NOT TO FEEL YOUR SWING

It is best when you do not feel your golf swing. Acquire the ability to make your golf club part of your body. Mentally make your hands one with the golf club face. Learn to allow the golf club to operate in unison with your mental goal. Stay focused on your shot execution with a clear internal vision of your intended target.

Golf Carefree

For those who are just starting out playing the game of golf, junior golfers or new amateur golfers, learning the swing golf mechanics will save you from confusion and frustration. Don’t play a round of golf with these golf hindrances and let them be roadblocks to your enjoyment and improvement. Learn to golf carefree! Take some time and spend some energy acquiring the golf mechanics of the full golf swing and you will make progress in lowering your golf score and enjoying the game much more than the average player.

Know your Golf Club’s
Trajectory and Distance

When the golf ball is hit properly, the golf shot’s trajectory and distance are mainly due to your golf club selection. For example, a 3-iron will go lower and longer, and a 7-iron will go higher and shorter in trajectory and distance respectively.

The club head design of lower numbered golf clubs, including wedges, have more of a higher or more upright clubface, and the design of the higher numbered golf clubs have more of a lower or flatter clubface. So you can use the same basic full motion swing for most types of shots. And with the correct golf club selection, because of the loft of the clubface, the golf ball’s trajectory and distance will produce your intended path of flight.

Today's golf clubs are the result of many years of evolution. Over those years golf club materials have changed and new golf club design and manufacturing techniques have been developed and refined.

GOLF TIPS TRAINING

WHEN TO TAKE A GOLF LESSON

Take a golf lesson of your full golf swing motion and swing golf mechanics from a golf professional:

  • when you are starting the game of golf as a beginner golfer or a junior golfer,
  • before restarting your golf game after some time away,
  • to help eliminate frustration and confusion from poor performance,
  • when you are an avid or professional golfer to clear your head of unknowingly occurring erroneous habits,
  • when you want to achieve scoring improvement,
  • to enjoy and appreciate the game of golf more.

Always be open-minded to taking advice from a person whose talent or knowledge of the game is more advanced than yours, or is someone you respect.
